KNGO Australia provides poverty reduction programs for those living in sub-standard conditions. Improved housing, health & hygiene awareness, food relief and scholarship opportunities are all projects aimed at improving outcomes and providing hope for a better future.

Housing: Families in need of support are identified by local community members. The most needy are supported by providing appropriate housing including: new housing, renovations and toilet facilities. With the help of generous donors from Australia and elsewhere, each year approx.15 families receive this life changing support.
When travel restrictions allow, groups from Australia will once again travel to Cambodia to assist in the building of new houses and toilet facilities.

Health & Hygiene: Each year, the students of the KNGO Cambodia school community receive sight examinations to identify those needing glasses or other treatment. This annual service, together with any treatment, is provided free of charge to all students by KNGO Australia. Dental hygiene and hand washing techniques are taught as part of the KNGO Cambodia School curriculum.
The “Days for Girls” program have been operating for a number of years. The production and distribution of approx 50 sanitary packs per year assists women and girls in the local community rebuild and prepare for the future.

Emergency Food Distribution: Many households struggle to find enough food for their family. KNGO Cambodia identifies these families in their local communities and, thanks to generous donors in Australia, provides rice, sauces and water to help these families to survive. Local organisations have also come on board to assist these struggling households.
